The Cloud Services team develops the strategy and works with teams worldwide to govern, grow, and operate Cloud solutions.  Our team embraces the regulatory challenges of our industry and drives innovative, secure, and compliant use of Cloud Service Providers.  We collaborate closely with internal and external partners worldwide to mature our ability to utilize Cloud Service Providers.   Our team also impacts application development agility worldwide via our cloud-based application hosting Platform as a Service (PaaS).  The Senior Cloud Web Platform Engineer will advance our team’s PaaS offering as principle engineer.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Shares in Product Owner role with Product Manager leading architecture, design, and engineering of global Cloud Foundry Platform
  • Identifies capability gaps in platform capabilities and then designs and implements solutions to address
  • Identifies and executes on opportunities to automate and simplify the maintenance and lifecycle of the platform
  • Defines best practices and guidelines for the Cloud Foundry platform, acting as a subject matter expert
  • Prioritizes workloads, commitments and scheduled timelines
  • Documents, reviews and ensures that all System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and company policy standards are met
  • Coach and mentor all levels of the organization to promote the utilization of the methodologies and tools to improve service delivery
  • Provide high level direction for work of the managed support staff
  • Maintains current industry knowledge of web platform concepts, best practices and technologies
  • Contributes to broader technology roadmaps and future state capabilities



 
Qualifications

Education Minimum Requirement

BSc Degree or equivalent with relevant experience in Computer Science, Computer Science Engineering, Math, or equivalent experience
Required Experience and Skills 
  • Senior engineer with 6 – 10 years of experience with infrastructure and programming
  • Hands-on experience with Cloud providers and IaaS (Azure, GCP, AWS – preferred)
  • Experience implementing and/or operating a large scale platform or application
  • Deep understanding of managing Cloud infrastructures
  • Knowledge of scripting language such as JavaScript, Python, or Unix shell scripts
Preferred Experience and Skills
  • Experience implementing and/or operating a Cloud Foundry based platform including BOSH and/or Pivotal Ops Manager
  • Linux Operations or System Administration experience
  • Experience in all areas of Systems Engineering - Infrastructure, Network, and Security; proficiency in at least 1 area and mastery of at least 1 more
  • Understanding of web and network protocols such as HTTP/S, JSON, TCP/IP, DNS
  • Proficiency in infrastructure, network, database, or security troubleshooting and remediation
  • Experience with middleware design and development
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in a matrixed and highly concurrent environment
  • Experience delivering products and features using Agile/Scrum methodologies in a DevOps environment
  • Experience with DevOps tools such as git, Jira, Jenkins, etc.
  • Experience working as part a global, diverse team
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and execute on a project or experiment, including milestones and endpoints.
