The Human Resources organization seeks a Masters level student in Human Resources Management, Industrial and Labor Relations, I/O Psychology, Business or relevant related area, for a full-time, 3-month internship located in North Wales, Pennsylvania; Lansdale, Pennsylvania; or Kenilworth, New Jersey.
Responsibilities for the intern include working both independently and with other HR professionals.  Projects and assignments will be customized closer to the internship based on candidate’s interest and business needs, but may include:
  • Participate in the execution of Merck’s talent strategies and solutions, including talent attraction, development, and retention solutions. 
  • Participate on an HR Operations project related to a key program or project priority for HR, inclusive of strategic planning, project management and communications.
  • Involvement in projects focused on compensation solutions for Merck’s divisions and functions and/or use of workforce analytics to drive solutions to address business needs. 
  • Involvement in projects focused on the changing demographics of the global workforce and Merck’s response.
This is a full- time internship position. Housing subsidy is not available as part of this program and must be funded 100% by the student.

Education Minimum Requirement:   
  • Candidates must be currently enrolled Masters level student in the disciplines of  Human Resources Management, Industrial and Labor Relations, I/O Psychology, Business or relevant related area, who has completed at least 1 year of  coursework at time of internship but who has not yet received his/her degree.
Required Experience and Skills:  
  • Candidates must have the ability to work full time on site in listed location.
  • Candidates must have a high level of organization & attention to detail
  • Candidates must have strong oral and written communication skills
  • Candidates must have strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Candidates must have the ability to work independently
  • Candidates must be skilled in probing and proactively asking the right questions to get needed information
  • Candidates must be skilled in delivering high quality work in a fast‐paced, demanding company
  • Candidates must have a willingness and motivation to meet aggressive deadlines and accomplish challenging objectives
