Reporting to the Chief of Staff, Oncology Global Medical Affairs (OGMA) this position will perform key activities to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the Global Therapeutic Area Biomarker Organization and provide critical support to the OGMA AVPs and Executive Directors on all aspects of day to day activities, including organization, processes and tool improvements. 

• Proactive planning, implementation and maintenance related to organizational design, procedures and process improvement.
• Support the Global TA organization in the strategic planning process through the development of Scientific Medical & Research (SMART) Plans 
• Support the Executive Directors and Directors in building high-performing, goal- and action-oriented teams at the Global/Regional Medical Affairs Teams.
• Planning & execution of PDL-1 pathologist training programs and train the trainer programs globally
• Increase visibility of MSD Oncology; support Diagnostics testing patient support programs ; e.g. monitoring, ensuring medical approval and overseeing the medical aspects of diagnostics patient support programs.
• Assist with planning, overseeing and tracking Biomarker Local Data Generation Studies (Non-interventional), OTSPs, Investigator Initiated Studies (IISs)
• Works with relevant teams and managers to build strong scientific OGMA Biomarker teams for specific tumors – including creation of competencies, arrangement of necessary training, monitoring progress, and areas of improvement/enhancements through prioritization and alignment. 
• Ensure a strong, well-built relationship with Regional Directors of Medical Affairs, Global Directors Medical Affairs, Executive Directors Global TA, Diagnostics commercial/clinical teams, CORE, Access and act as a liaison in many aspects. 
• Support country and regional medical affairs organizations through education, information and Biomarker data dissemination (e.g. debriefs, training sessions and SL engagements).
• Budget management includes financial planning & reconciliation for the Global TA Biomarker organization.
• Evaluation, selection & management of vendors to support activities of the Global TA Biomarker organization.
• Manage day to day activities of the Global TA Biomarker organization which includes facilitating team meetings, preparing agendas, maintaining team-site content etc.

Qualifications

Required Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Business or related area
• A minimum of 4 years working in a clinical or pharmaceutical environment in Oncology
• 3 year Project/Program Management experience (pharma, academia, small business, etc.)

Preferred Skills:
• Master’s degree  Science, Business or related area
• Excellent understanding of the global health care environment and key trends that are reshaping this environment
• Able to operate at all levels of the company : global-areas, i.e. up to and including Division Presidents
• Excellent strategic planning and organizational skills
• Proven ability for innovation and non-traditional thinking
• Strong business acumen with ability to judge whether ideas can really lead to compliant and value added solutions
• Understanding of basic financial procedures, including budget management
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Outstanding presentation and facilitation skills
• Ability to influence without authority
• Ability to negotiate and work in a highly collaborative way
• Proven ability to lead multi-functional and multi-cultural teams in a global and matrix environment
• Good interpersonal, networking and cross-functional management skills
• Sigma Certification
• Change Management
• Experience in a Medical Affairs/Biomarkers
