Position Description :

We are currently recruiting for an Associate Director, U.S. Field Execution & HCP Marketing Lead – Ovarian Cancer for LYNAPARZA (Olaparib).  Merck and AstraZeneca entered into a strategic oncology collaboration to co-develop and co-commercialize LYNPARZA, which is currently indicated in metastatic Ovarian Cancer and metastatic Breast Cancer. 

This position will support the current inline ovarian cancer indications but also plan for future ovarian indication launches and work in close collaboration with AstraZeneca and multiple cross functional teams at both Merck and AstraZeneca.  

The position will be based in Upper Gwynedd, PA and will report to the U.S. Marketing  Lead –LYNPARZA. 

This position will require outstanding leadership, strong strategic thinking, launch planning, flawless execution, promotions development, relationship building and counter-competition. 

Key responsibilities include and are not limited to the following:

  • Collaborate with AstraZeneca to enhance ovarian cancer current and future indications marketing strategy, marketing tools, and promotional plan
  • Collaborate with AstraZeneca to develop message platforms and HCP resources Collaborate with AstraZeneca to develop counter-competitive plans
  • Support development and updates of targeting, segmentation, dashboards, and other field analytics
  • Lead or co-lead Day-in-the-Life or other field preparation meetings
  • Brand communications and field execution lead
  • Regular collaboration and communication with Global Ovarian team
  • Lead or co-lead cross-functional teams and clearly communicate a vision, needs, and ensure deliverables are met
  • Partner with AstraZeneca and Customer Insight Team to develop market research program and monitor performance
  • Marketing budget management for ovarian cancer
  • MRK launch planning lead for future indications in ovarian cancer
  • Represent MRK in Ovarian Promotions Review planning, prioritization, and coordination. 

Position Qualifications:

Education Minimum Requirement:

  • Required: BA/BS
  • Preferred: MBA/MS

Required Experience and Skills: 

  • Minimum of (5) years Pharmaceutical business experience
  • Core marketing experience including strategy development and launch planning Strong relationship building, problem solving, teamwork, analytical, and written/verbal communication skills
  • Experience influencing without direct authority and working successfully with cross-functional teams
  • Experience bringing promotional materials through legal, regulatory, and clinical review
  • 20% Travel including some weekends

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • At least 3 years prior U.S. Oncology Marketing and/or Sales experience
  • Strength Managing complexity and multiple competing priorities
  • Excellent communication skills to succinctly lead and prioritize efforts
  • Experience working in external business collaboration or joint venture.
