The leader is responsible for ensuring that the US market has an industry-leading strategy and approach to measuring and optimizing HCP and consumer engagement campaigns on an “in-flight” basis.    The leader will ensure that engagement teams with responsibility for the creation and pull-through of campaigns have the timely and actionable insights necessary to optimize customer engagement during campaign execution.  This role will have the opportunity to influence consumer & HCP campaigns spanning Merck’s entire portfolio, including Oncology, Vaccine, Chronic Care, Woman’s Health and Hospital/Specialty.   


Job Responsibilities:  

  • Responsible for establishing a consistent analytics framework as well as the set of tools required to measure and assess the effectiveness of our engagement activities across all channels and brands
  • Proactively creates & executes robust campaign measurement plans to enable timely insights to optimize engagement campaigns “in-flight”
  • Builds and develops a high-performing team comprised of internal and external resources
  • Responsible for driving the application of industry-leading data, methods and metrics for campaign measurement approaches, including evolution of customer engagement leading indicators / key performing indicators 
  • Inform/guide the evolution and roadmap for campaign analytics BI tools and capabilities 
  • Continually explores and experiments with new approaches to measuring and optimizing campaigns 
  • Ensures proper design and execution of test and learn protocols used to optimize content and channel approaches   
  • Works in close collaboration with members of digital engagement, marketing, advanced analytic, data management and IT teams to ensure appropriate implementation and pull-through of measurement protocols 
  • Responsible for building and leading centers of excellence for both HCP and consumer campaign analytics   
  • Builds and develops a high-performing team comprised of internal and external resources


Qualifications:

  • Deep understanding of best practices related to use of data, methods and metrics for customer campaign measurement and optimization  
  • Proven ability to build, develop and lead a high-performing analytics team 
  • Proven ability to effectively collaborate with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders 
  • Strong project management skills
  • Intellectual curiosity and ability to identify innovative approaches to addressing campaign optimization 
  • Excellent presentation, analytics and communication skills, both written and oral, are required to synthesize key issues and communicate/persuade constituencies towards specific actions and initiatives

Qualifications

Education: 

 

Required:    

  • BA / BS in Quantitative Analytics field (e.g. quantitative sciences, quantitative business analytics, engineering or IT)

Preferred:   

  • MS / PhD in Quantitative Analytics field (e.g. quantitative sciences, engineering or IT) 

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of (10) years’ experience in delivering actionable insights to optimize customer engagement campaigns
