This position will contribute to Merck's drug discovery and early development portfolio in the Department of Pharmacokinetics, Pharmacodynamics and Drug Metabolism (PPDM) at MRL Boston. The successful candidate will have a passion for generating high quality in vitro PPDM data for use by project teams across a range of therapeutic areas. As well as performing assays for small molecules and peptides according to standard protocols, there will be opportunities to develop novel methods to address PPDM-related questions across modalities.

Qualifications

Education Minimum Requirement: 

Bachelor’s degree or a Master’s degree. Appropriate subjects for highest degree include biochemistry, chemistry, pharmacology or chemical engineering.

 

Required Experience and Skills**:
• BS degree with 3+ years relevant laboratory experience or MS degree
• Desire to perform and interpret in vitro ADME (absorption, metabolism, distribution and excretion) studies
• Expertise in bioanalysis using LC-MS/MS
• Knowledge of drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics
• Enthusiasm to learn more about drug discovery and development
• Track record of successful leadership
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills


Preferred Experience and Skills:
• Experience of working within a research-driven pharmaceutical company
• Experience in peptide, oligonucleotide and/or therapeutic protein drug discovery or development
