In this laboratory manager position, we are looking for a competent multitasker to serve as the communication channel for R&D with on-site and remote teams including Purchasing/Accounts Payable, Maintenance & Engineering and Environmental Health and Safety. The candidate must have the level of dynamism, understanding and openness necessary to communicate with a variety of stakeholders on a disparate number of topics. This role will involve supervision of a group dedicated to serve R&D in media & reagent preparation as well as office administrative functions. To be successful, the candidate must have advanced computer skills, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and have a genuine desire to meet the needs of others. 


Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for purchase orders placements and invoice reconciliation with Accounts Payable.
2. Responsible for coordination and follow up on the execution of facilities projects in concert with maintenance and engineering group.
3. Responsible for coordination, responsiveness and follow up on initiatives and activities with Environmental Health and Safety 
4. Responsible for coordination and follow up on capital items and equipment procedures such as Management of Change, Request for Concurrency, preparations and establishment of preventive maintenance contracts.
5. Responsible for interacting with scientists and upper management, so communication and presentation skills as well as problem solving, and analytical abilities will be essential to this role.
6. Assists in the documentation and implementation of required or desired changes in site procedures.

Qualifications

Education Minimum Requirement:
• A Bachelor's degree is required


Required Experience and Skills**:
• Minimum 5 years of experience in purchasing/Accounts Payable or experience coordinating activities with maintenance and engineering
• Ability to manage and lead others
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn new processes


Preferred Experience and Skills:
1. SAP experience processing: Purchase Orders and Payment Requests; Vendor Add Forms, as well as the capability to run reports within SAP
2.  Outstanding written and verbal communication and people skills
3. Working knowledge of OSHA Safety Regulations is a plus.
4. The ability to handle multiple priorities
5. Performance Coaching and Leadership skills
6. Computer MS office suite
7. Experience in improving billing and accounts receivable
