Who you are: You are a seasoned data scientist and innovator with interest and experience in Real-World Evidence (RWE) generation through advanced analytics and innovative approaches. You have a strong desire to influence internal and external decision making through the application of innovative data science and technology.

 

Where you fit in: You will collaborate with and support a diverse set of scientists in the Center for Observational and Real-World Evidence (CORE) to leverage real-world data and advanced analytics to support market access, reimbursement and other business imperatives. You will help identify business and scientific opportunities as you broaden the scope of collaboration with other functions in our research laboratories. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with IT professionals as you seek to turn meaningful findings into solutions that may be used in care management and clinical decision support. You will do this in a vibrant research environment, with a strong innovative culture and at a national center of the health informatics. Responsibilities:

• Support the development of statistical models & methodologies in order to quantify, forecast, predict health metrics of interest

• With relevant guidance, design experiments to test hypothesis and/or validate findings

• Conduct advanced data analysis and utilize/develop appropriate algorithms to generate evidence from real world data.

• Effectively communicate findings and methodological approaches

• Apply advanced statistical and predictive modeling techniques to build, maintain, and improve decision support tools

• Support ongoing improvements to methods and algorithms that have significant impact on business

• Provide organization with necessary insights both from an IT and a business perspective in order to build appreciation for the quantitative tools and analyses and to drive organizational buy in.

Qualifications

Education Minimum Requirement:
A PhD degree in  biostatistics, statistics, econometrics, mathematics, computer science, or a related field with at least 2 years of relevant work experience is required. Alternatively, a Master’s degree in a relevant field with at least 6 years relevant work experience is required.

Required Experience and Skills**:
• Five (5) or more years of relevant quantitative and qualitative research and analytics experience
• Solid knowledge of statistical techniques such as structural equation modeling, fixed/random effect analysis,  survival analysis, time-series modeling, as well as design of optimization algorithms
• Hands-on experience using machine learning algorithms (supervised, unsupervised learning, deep neural network, transfer learning)
• Experience in application of advanced analytics to real-world biomarker datasets in Oncology is desirable.
• Strong programming skills (such as SQL, Hadoop or other big data frameworks), statistical modeling (like Python, SAS or R)
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Industry/business knowledge
• Experience in healthcare administrative data and electronic medical records

Preferred Experience and Skills:
• The ability to come up with solutions to loosely defined business problems by leveraging pattern detection over potentially large datasets
• Experience with the whole life cycle of real-world evidence (planning, generation, and dissemination)
• Exposure with payer analytics and/or HTA methodologies for value-based contracting
• Experience on social media data
• Entrepreneurial mindset
