Position Description:

The Associate Director, Oncology Promotion (US Digital Engagement) position is responsible for supporting the enhancement of existing digital tools & platforms and the introduction of new solutions to optimize the customer journey for the US Digital Engagement Strategy for KEYTRUDA.

Responsibilities include, and are not limited to the following:

  • Manages the creation, approval and delivery of individual pilots, programs, and tactic to accomplish the US Digital Engagement Strategy and drive business results for KEYTRUDA. Applies the appropriate compliance policies and regulatory guidance to the delivery of  pilots, programs, and tactics.
  • Leverages customer insights, channel preferences and capabilities, and best practices.
    Ensures that promotional components link together to deliver a deliberate customer journey.  Ensures communication objectives align with the intent of the promotional asset and channel capability.
  • Works collaboratively with multiple internal teams, including the Innovative Media Review Team (IMRT), the Enterprise Social Media Group (ESMG), the Promotion Review Team (PRT), Marketing Operations, Privacy Legal, etc.
  • Drives measurement and improvement of promotional effectiveness.
  • Monitors Creative Agency scope of work (SOW) and provides input to agency evaluations.
  • Responsible for all budget management processes for assigned projects and manages expenses within Merck guidelines. 
  • Manages consistent utilization of branding hallmarks and creative concepts across  pilots, programs, and tactics.
  • Demonstrates leadership behaviors. Maintains alignment to company compliance goals and policies.


Position Qualifications:

Education Minimum Requirement:

  • Bachelor's Degree required,
  • Masters in Business Administration preferred

Required Experience and Skills: 

  • A minimum of 2 years experience in marketing, marketing communications, and/or marketing support of pharmaceutical products.
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in digital marketing.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute a digital marketing strategy.
  • Strong knowledge of marketing principles.
  • Astute business, decision, and analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into a recommendation or path forward.
  • Experience and success in cross-functional leadership and teamwork.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills and attention to details.
  • Previous agency/vendor management skills.

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Experience in supporting the Oncology business.
  • Experience in the Merck end-to-end medical/legal (PRT) review and delivery process.
  • Knowledge of Merck commercial, regulatory, and legal compliance policies.
  • Veeva/PromoMats and/or ZINC experience.
  • Experience in developing a Chatbot platform.
