Primary Job Responsibilities:
 
The Commercial Information Management (CIM) Associate Solution Architect will be responsible for supporting defining the solution and technical architecture of the commercial data solution and commercial operations reporting and analytics. This role will work closely with the CIM Solution architect overall global architecture team to align the architecture globally between platforms.
  • Support the creation of the evolving future state architecture definition, design and development of the CIM platform – covering real time and batch interfaces, MDM, Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence and Analytics
  • Collaborate and contribute to the cross platform and product driven architecture and be responsible for driving adherence and adoption of this architecture
  • Responsible for ensuring that the defined of processes and standards for platform architecture are utilized
  • Support the creation of high-level solution architecture design based on requirements that have been defined at initiative scoping and/or Business Requirement phases
  • Support the process to identify and document cross dependencies to delivery, business outcomes across the commercial products and ensure all product owners understand the end to end solution
  • Collaborate and contribute with other platform solution architects to adopt and drive standard architecture patterns and consider end to end solutions focused on realizing business value
  • Act as in project solution architect to support project delivery by providing direction and input to resolve design issues associated to challenges with the solution or technical architecture
  • Review solution designs and participate in code reviews as part of delivery projects
  • Act as the escalation point for technical issues that development team is unable to resolve without assistance
  • Utilise technical skills to work hands on with data using tool sets across existing and emerging technologies
  • Communicate solution architecture to key business and IT stakeholders, platform, product and delivery teams to ensure solution is understood and adhered to during delivery
  • Provide support to design, construction and testing phases of the project(s) to ensure high quality delivery across the teams
  • Responsible for quality assurance of design and development artefacts associated to the interface technical design
  • Develop good understanding of Merck data and business objectives to support teams in delivering high quality outcomes

Qualifications

We are seeking professionals with the following qualifications, skills and experience:

Education Minimum Requirement: 
 
BSC or MSC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Business Management or related discipline with 5-6 years’ experience in a Commercial environment
 
Required Experience and Skills:
  • Demonstrated experience in designing data focused solution architecture for major global organization
  • Motivated team player with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of oncology data sets across marketing and commercial operations in the pharmaceutical industry – both consumer and health care providers
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience of contributing to innovative solution architectures to improve business value of commercial data
  • Strong analytical thinker and problem-solving skills with a strong understanding of master data management practices
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a geographically disbursed environment
  • Experience of different ways of working and delivery methodologies – iterative, agile, Kanban
  • Interest in emerging technology and application to resolving relevant business issues
  • Experience of working with batch and real time integrations techniques, tools and technologies
  • Ability to self-learn and develop business and technical knowledge quickly and apply these to the business problems
  • Experience working with structured and unstructured data across the commercial environment (sales, marketing, digital etc.) and supporting the use of these types of data with key Business stakeholders
Preferred Experience and Skills:
  • Prior experience in designing and implementing cloud computing and/or web-based solutions and be familiar, or participated in Agile (Scrum) development practices
  • Experience linking structured and unstructured data together a plus
  • GxP, SOX or other regulatory certified system experience
