Under the direction of a supervisor and/or group leader the Utility Worker:

  • Prepares glassware and other laboratory equipment by washing, packing, and assembling for laboratory use
  • Electronically receives stores, and delivers laboratory supplies and packages
  • Prepares and transfers waste material such as radioactive, chemical and pathological for disposal, and performs cleaning and housekeeping duties as directed
  • All duties are carried out in compliance with departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), building polices, and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) where applicable.
The position requires heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs., 70 lbs with assistance), exposure to noise, varying temperatures (hot/cold), and potential exposure to broken glass.  Must use safety and personal protective equipment and clothing such as safety shoes, safety glasses, and gowns as listed in departmental SOPs, etc.


Education Minimum Requirement: High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Experience and Skills: Experience working in a Pharmaceutical and/or cGMP environment
