Global Clinical Trial Operations (GCTO) oversees the operations involved in conducting clinical studies for biologics, vaccines and small molecules. We are a dedicated team focused on helping to save and improve lives, guided by our commitment to patients and the communities we serve.

The Emerging Talent Rotational Program 
The program will provide incoming talent, increased exposure to various roles within GCTO and development opportunities promoting broader cross-functional understanding.

The program consists of a 21-24 month robust hands-on learning opportunity.  During three, 6 month rotational assignments, the Emerging Talent Rotation Associates (ETRA) will receive general GCTO U.S. onboarding training, foundational training in clinical research and exposure to several roles in country operations and the CSSM and GDMS organizations. 

At the conclusion of their rotational assignments, the ETRAs will be better equipped to advance their careers within Merck, with opportunities in the various roles within the GCTO organization.

GCTO executes diverse studies across all phases of development to get new medications to the patients who need them. We are involved in every step of clinical trial operations.
